When my '95 diesel Mercedes stopped running over the weekend, Pete's not only picked up the phone, but were incredibly accommodating when it came to having my car delivered (via tow truck) that Monday morning. Their detailed inspection (including photos!) helped identify issues that were far beyond what I was expecting, and their communication, speed, and quality of work was overall impressive. Tl;dr, if you need a reliable shop, this is the one.

I have been bringing my Mercedes E350 to Pete’s for over 2 years and have always been very impressed. The professionalism of everyone at Pete’s is top notch and their diligence and knowledge of how best to approach each service request is outstanding. I especially want to call out Lucia who is the person I deal with the most. She is not only professional and great to work with but obviously very knowledgeable as well as very honest and forthright about what you need to get done immediately vs what can wait. This helps me plan for repairs in terms of my budget and gives me confidence she is looking out for me and.not “upselling” which I have experienced elsewhere. Everything I have had done at Pete’s is done well with no recurrence of the problem. I highly recommended Pete’s.

Big thanks for the glowing review! We’re honored to maintain your Mercedes and build trust over the years. Our team strives for honest guidance and quality service—your recommendation means everything!

I take my 2019 mini cooper S here, as it needs a range of maintenance. “Everyday” wear and tear on these SF hills is about brake pads and tires. The annual check and oil change will be coming up later. Now, it was about flushing. What I can count on is that the team is on top of what’s needed now and what’s coming up. With any older car, there’s also what will come up, with timing that’s unpredictable. I trust that what they say and show is needed actually is. The pricing is fair. Their commitment to my knowledge/education is an important value we share. It’s clear the whole team, from the check in with Lucia, to those fine mechanics under the hood, work together with pride and important detail. I’ve been happily letting others know. Thank you, Pete’s Team!

Truly grateful for your trust in Pete's, Inc.! Our team takes pride in proactive care and teamwork to keep your Mini Cooper running smoothly. Thanks for spreading the word!

I called Pete's Mechanic Shop because the previous owner had major repairs (air suspension compressor and shock absorbers) performed there. The work was still within the stated warranty period, but the shop refused to honor the warranty simply because ownership of the vehicle had changed. If a repair is still under warranty, I believe the quality of the work should stand on its own, regardless of who owns the car, unless that limitation is made very clear upfront. Instead of standing behind their workmanship, they declined to help based solely on the change of ownership. This experience left me disappointed. If you're considering this shop, I recommend asking for the warranty terms in writing and confirming whether the warranty transfers with the vehicle before relying on any warranty coverage. Reply: Thank you for your response. I respectfully disagree with several points you made. First, my concern isn't about the length of your warranty—it's that you declined to honor it solely because ownership changed. In my experience, and with many repair facilities, warranties on parts and workmanship stay with the vehicle unless they are explicitly stated to be non-transferable. I was never provided with any written warranty terms indicating otherwise. Second, your explanation about compressor abuse does not match the condition of my vehicle. The vehicle has never displayed an air suspension warning message, nor has it been sitting low overnight. The suspension maintains its height normally when parked. The issue is that the compressor does not respond at all—the vehicle cannot be raised or lowered. The air springs continue to hold pressure, which indicates the system is sealing properly. Based on the actual symptoms, I don't believe it's accurate to conclude that the compressor failed because it was repeatedly operated while the vehicle was sitting low.

Their is more to this story that the author has stated. But to be clear our warranty is 3 yrs/36k miles and is not transferable. That's my policy, it's an above average warranty for the industry and we try to take care of everyone and even bend the policy at times. In this case the stated compressor has been abused and I would not warranty it to the original purchaser. If you have an air suspension car and you get every morning and the car is sitting low and is telling you to visit workshop, do so. Otherwise you overburden the suspension compressor and it will fail.
